CAF Air Force participate in fire fighting in Bosnia and Herzegovina

Air Force of the CAF Fire-fighting Taks Force (CAF FF TF) participate today, 12 August 2011, in fire fighting in neighboring Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH).

After the information has been received at 12:28 from the Fire-fighting Operational Centre (FFOC) of DUZS in Divulje about a fire in the Municipality of Trebinje in BiH, an aircraft Canadair CL-415 was sent from Zemunik to Cilipi airport where it landed at 12:58 hours.
After the FFOC received approval to engage in the fire extinguishing in BiH which broke out on the northeastern slopes of Mount Vilanjak (opposite side of the hill compared to yesterday’s fire) to Grab village, municipality of Trebinje in BiH, the airplane had taken off from the same Cilipi airport at 14:23. Another plane from the Zemunik Airbase came to the fire site at 14:52 hours. Fire fighting is in progress.
