CAF cadets take skiing training at Sljeme

The Commander of the Croatian Defence Academy, Lieutenant General Slavko Barić visited the first generation of cadets of the Military Management and Military Engineering  during their winter camp at Sljeme.

The 32 students, among whom six females, are taking the skiing training under the expert guidance of the kinesiologists of the Croatian Defence Academy.
Lt. Gen. Slavko Barić commended the skills acquired by the cadets, some of whom  are first time skiers. “The cadets are expected to learn to ski, a compulsory skill for all officers, to prepare them for future complex tasks. They are undergoing a 5-day programme for groups of 30 designed by the Defence Academy’s instructors“, said Lt. Gen. Barić.
General Barić also expressed satisfaction over the 700 received applications for the military study programmes in the academic year 2015-2016, significantly exceeding the expectations.
The cadet instructor, 1st Lt. Domagoj Bagarić, complimented the cadets’ learning capabilities.
The guest student from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Nedžmina Dervišević, is very enthousiastic about the training: “The instructors are very patient with us and are surprised by our learning progress  over the past three days. A soldier must be versatile and prepared to operate under any conditions, so this is a great experience for us and benefit offered by the training programmes by the Croatian Defence Academy“.
