CAF delegation visits UNDOF mission
From 28 June to 2 July 2010, CAF delegation, led by the Deputy Chief of General Staff for Plans and Resources, Lieutenant General Slavko Baric, has been visiting members of the Croatian Armed Forces deployed in the UNDOF peacekeeping mission on the Golan Heights.
During the visit, a meeting was held with the Mission Commander Filipin Major General Natalie Ecarmo, representatives of the UNDOF Headquarters and the Austrian battalion, under which the most CAF members were deployed. At every meeting, the professional approach and a very good cooperation with the Croatian members were emphasized. Through presentations, briefings and tours of the Faouar camp, the delegation got an insight with duties and living conditions of the CAF members.
Since the beginning of June 2010, 5th HRVCON with 95 members has been in the mission, out of which 76 have been deployed as part of the 3rd Company of the Austrian Battalion (AUSBAT). The rest CAF members have been assigned on the duties in the UNDOF Command, on the positions of staff officers, military police, and medical and support staff.
