CAF deployed in Orle and Rugvica municipalities in defending against flood
Based on the requirements of the National Protection and Rescue Directorate (DZUS), Defence Minister Branko Vukelic issued a decision to send CAF Task Force to help in the area affected by floods in places Bukevje and Sop Bukevski in Orle municipality in Zagreb County.
Thus immediately this morning, on Monday, 20 September 2010, CAF Task Force has been deployed into the areas aforementioned – 150 members of the Army, soldiers and other basic equipment needed. Also today, on Monday, 20 September 2010, at around 13.00 hours, 50 CAF members were sent to Dubrovcak in Rugvica municipality in Zagreb County, and it is soon expected to deploy another 50 CAF members in area of Sisacko-moslavacka County, all based on a requests of DUZS.
CAF Task forces, which was on Sunday, 19 September 2010, deployed upon a request of DZUS and by the decision of the Minister of Defence Branko Vukelic in the area affected by floods in Brdovec in Zagreb County, during the night from Sunday on Monday participated in building and strengthening of embankments in Brdovec municipality. During Monday morning CAF units were withdrawn from that location because there was no need for their further activities. Further involvement of members of the Croatian Armed Forces on the ground will depend on the assessment of the National Protection and Rescue directorate.
