CAF helicopter rescued cruiser crew member

During the evening on Monday, 14 November 2011, around 22.00 hours at a position near the island of Lastovo, CAF helicopter MI-8 MTV in a very challenging and complex operation took part in the rescue of crew from the Crystal Sereniti cruise ship.

Cruise ship was sailing from Dubrovnik to Venice, and sometime around 22:00 hours a crew member – 27-year-old Turkish citizen got a heart attack, and through the Centre for Search and Rescue at Sea from Rijeka an urgent request to the county 112 centre in Split was sent for engaging helicopter of the Croatian Air Force and Air Defence.

Thanks to the quick intervention the crew member was transported in time to the Split Clinical Hospital.
