CAF helicopter technician injured
When performing the landing manoeuvre of the MI 171 helicopter on the Zemunik Air Base today, 12 September 2012, in the morning, a sergeant – helicopter technician was injured.
The accident occurred during the landing of the helicopter, as the technician-crew member jumped from the helicopter and due to an ankle injury fell on the runway. He suffered injuries – ruptured pelvis and cracks in the right arm and foot ankle. The injured member of the 91st Air Force Base was given first aid on the spot and then taken to Zadar Hospital, where he was kept for further treatment.
Due to the complexity of the injury it is considered to be transported to a hospital in Zagreb.
The circumstances of the injury of the member of the Croatian Armed Forces have been in the course of the investigation.
Injured officer – technician of the Croatian Air Force and Air Defence has been involved in Jackal Stone 12 international military exercise.
