CAF member received medal of German Armed Forces

A member of the Croatian Armed Forces Captain Robert Poljak was awarded today, April 8, with the Bronze Medal of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Germany for exceptional contribution and commitment in the ISAF mission, by the German Ambassador, Bernd Fischer, in the German Embassy in Zagreb.

The ceremony was also attended by Minister of Defence Davor Bozinovic, members of the military and diplomatic corps and senior representatives of the MOD and CAF.

Stating that he himself recently as a member of the delegation led by President of the Republic of Croatia, was among the ISAF members in Afghanistan, Minister Bozinovic said: “I am impressed with professionalism of the German Armed Forces, and satisfied with the fact that members of the Croatian Armed Forces in missions in no way stay behind the best”. Ambassador Fischer stressed that cooperation in Afghanistan was a special form of the German-Croatian friendship, and bronze medal of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Germany to Croatian officer certificated and was one more proof of the friendship and alliance.

When thanking for the medal awarded, Captain Robert Poljak said: “Although the medal was presented to me personally, I think it is also recognition to my unit, the Croatian Armed Forces and the MOD. Thank you again for given honour and I believe that this medal will be the impetus for further dedicated work of my colleagues, members of the Armed Forces who are in the ISAF mission and other peacekeeping operations”.
