CAF members assist flood-hit areas during the weekend
Sunday 23 February 2014 saw the deployment of 300 members of the Croatian Armed Forces assigned with the supervision, rebuilding of the embankments, filling the sandbags, delivering the potable water and other tasks as necessary to assist to the flood-hit villages residents
The Support Command of the Croatian Armed Forces deployed two field kitchens in charge of preparing 750 meals, and a potable water cistern providing 3000 l water to the residents of the villages severely hit by the floods.
On Monday 24 February 2014 there were 142 soldiers deployed to the area.
Meanwhile, 496 CAF members, equipped with 10 lorries, one tractor, two medical teams, two workshops, one low-load trailer, two amphibious carriers, one PUCH vehicle, a potable water cistern and a van, remain on alert in the barracks “Pukovnik Predrag Matanović” in Petrinja and “Pukovnik Marko Živković” at Pleso (near Zagreb).
