CAF members assist in flood aftermath in Slavonia

A total of 172 members of the Croatian Armed Forces are dealing with the aftermath of floods in Slavonia.

The members of the NBC Battalion on 8 June decontaminated a total 1842 persons and 1016 vehicles, working at the decontamination posts „ZIB“ at Rajevo Selo and „Velebit“ at Gunja respectively, whereas the medical and veterinarian task force have continued sanitating the land and disinsecting the decontamination posts and the centre for Children with Special Needs at Gunja, where the soldiers also began clearing up the waste yesterday 8 June.
 
Furthermore, the Engineer Regiment continue rehabilitating the support construction in the „Bejli“ bridge at Račinovci,the Signal Regiment maintains the communication systems and military policemen have been engaged in the Županja area.
 
The General Logistic Support Battalion remains in charge of the mobile field kitchens preparing the meals at three posts (at Cerna, Drenovci and Otok respectively), and of maintenance, repairs and refilling of the the Armed Forces machinery  utilised in flood relief (presently – 58 motor vehicles, four medical vehicles, eight engineer machines, eight fuel tanks and two boats).
