CAF MP servicemen in SHARP LYNX 12 exercise in Poland

The “SHARP LYNX 12” international military exercise of the NATO Multinational Military Police Battalion (NATO MNMPBAT) on which, along with military police of Polish, Czech and Slovak Republic armed forces, participate members of the CAF Military Police, has been conducted from 10 to 22 September 2012 in Poland.

463 servicemen from four nations have been participating in the “SHARP LYNX 12”, including Croatia with 44 MOD and CAF members.

The exercise has been conducted at the Polish “Wedrzyn” military training ground, and till now all planned preparatory activities have been carried out, among other things, a gathering of forces, logistics and units, scouting the terrain, testing the capabilities of all components, etc.

The process of final evaluation and certification of the Battalion by NATO standards (Combat Readiness Evaluation – CREVAL) started on Monday, September 17, and on Friday, September 21, a VIP day will be held, followed by the signing of the accession document and by the beginning of the MNMPBAT accession to NATO Multinational Corps Northeast (MNC NE).

This year’s exercise, as well as previous MNMPBAT exercises, has been conducted pursuant to the Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Defence of the Czech Republic, the Croatian Ministry of Defence, the Minister of National Defence of the Republic of Poland and Ministry of Defence of the Slovak Republic in relation to the NATO Multinational Military Police Battalion, which entered into force on 5 July 2007, the Implementation Agreement, which entered into force on 12 June 2007 and the Technical Agreement from June 2009.
