CAF pilots held lectures on emergency medical helicopter transport
Organized by the Croatian Institute for Emergency Medicine in Split on 17 and 18 May 2012, expert meeting regarding emergency medical helicopter transport was held, where the pilot from the squadron of transport helicopters of the 93rd Air Force Base Lt. Josip Perić, gave a lecture on security in accessing CAF helicopters.
Lecture was of educational form for medical workers who would be directly involved in the medical teams as well as for supporting staff in transporting patients by air.
The meeting is part of the preparation for emergency air medical transportation during the 2012 tourist season, in accordance with the Agreement on cooperation in the implementation of emergency air medical transport concluded between the Croatian Ministry of Defence and the Ministry of Health.
Under the agreement there will be an additional emergency medical team with equipment necessary to accompany and treat the patient during the flight in “Knez Trpimir” Barracks in Divulje throughout the year. This improves the whole system since so far patient was accompanied by a physician from the island.
