Captain Petar Stanić assumed the duty of operations officer at the ATALANTA Operation Command in Spain
The Croatian Navy Commander told Captain Stanić that while there are challenges associated with living and working in an international environment, there are also many opportunities for growth and learning
Today, 19 June 2025, Captain Petar Stanić, the former Head of the Support Section in the Croatian Navy Fleet’s Naval Landing Fantry Company, took over Lieutenant Commander Ivana Ćosić’s duty as operations officer at the EU NAVFOR ATALANTA Operation Command in Rota, Kingdom of Spain.
Captain Petar Stanić was welcomed by Croatian Navy Commander Rear Admiral Damir Dojkić and Croatian Navy Fleet Commander Captain (N) Antun Flegar prior to to his departure for his new position at the Croatian Navy Command.
On that occasion, the Croatian Navy Commander wished Captain Stanić success in his new role and stated: “Working and living in a global setting is a challenging task, but it’s also an excellent opportunity to grow and learn new things. I’m hoping you’ll perform this duty as well as you have so far.”
Captain Petar Stanić holds a master’s degree in environmental science and has been a CAF member since 2014. He is moving from his role as Head of the Support Section of the Croatian Navy Fleet’s Naval Landing Infantry Company to the EU NAVFOR ATALANTA Operation Command. This is his first participation in international peace support operations.
