CDA hosts a seminar on refugees flow management
The Croatian Defence Academy ” Franjo Tuđman” on 8 and 9 June 2016 hosted a seminar on “Management of Migrant Flow in Southeast Europe“, organised by the European Center for Security Studies “George C. Marshall“.
The seminar was moderated by the Director of the Centre’s Programme for Central and Southeast Europe, Matthew Rhodes, who appreciated the Croatian Defence Academy for their part in the co-operation.
The Center being a German-U.S. partnership project, the seminar was opened by the addresses by the U.S. and the German ambassadors to the Republic of Croatia.
The U.S. Ambassador to Croatia, H.E. Julieta Valls Noyes expressed the honour to address the participants of the regional symposium on the subject of relevance and commended its timing.
The Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to the Republic of Croatia, H.E. Thomas E. Schultze emphasised the importance of the Centre as the institution addressing crucial problems in national and external security, such as the refugee flow.
The Head of the Defence and Strategic Studies Centre of the Croatian Defen ce Academy, Colonel Jugoslav Jozić opened the seminar welcoming its participants on behalf of the Cmmander of the Croatian Defence Academy, Lieutenant General Slavko Barić and extended appreciation to the George C. Marshall Centre on its years-long support to the development of the Croatian Defence Academy.
Pjer Šimunović, Head of the Office of National Security Council, commended the relevance of the seminar.
The seminar featured several panels, engaging a number of Croatian and foreign officials and representatives of the institutions handling the refugees.
