Celebration of the 20th Anniversary of “Falcons” Guard Brigade

20^th anniversary of the 5^th Guard Brigade “Falcons” and the Day of the 1^st Mechanized Battalion “Falcons” of the Guards Armoured Mechanized Brigade has been marked today, October 11, in the Barracks in Našice.

The present were addressed by the Commander of the Guards Armoured Mechanized Brigade Brigadier Siniša Jurković and Commander of the 1^st Mechanized Battalion “Falcons” Major Ivan Miloš that recalled the warpath of the 5^th Guard Brigade and its contribution in the Homeland War and on the new circumstances in which members of the battalion and brigade have been deployed in NATO led ISAF operation and the UN peacekeeping missions. After the ceremonial part, sports competitions of members of the Guards Armoured – Mechanized Brigade in indoor soccer, volleyball, table tennis, tug rope were held.

As part of the celebration of the 20^th anniversary of the “Falcon” Guard Brigade, on Friday, 5 October 2012, representatives of the 1^st Mechanized Battalion “Falcons” laid a wreath at the memorial to fallen members of the 5^th Guard Brigade in “Bosut” Barracks in Vinkovci.
