Ceremony marking the beginning of education at CMA “Petar Zrinski”
Employees and students of the Croatian Military Academy marked the beginning of education for the school year 2010/2011 on Tuesday, September 14, in Zagreb’s Barracks “Peter Zrinski”. The ceremony was attended by guests from MOD and CAF, as well as representatives of the diplomatic and military-diplomatic corps, from Military Ordinary and the Ministry of Interior.
In a brief speech to the students, CMA Director Major General Mirko Sundov said that in the system of modern armies of the world, where CAF seeks and certainly have its place, the process of training and professional development is of vital importance. It is one of the most important forms of management and development of human resources that must ensure the conditions for entry of new, and the development and maintenance of level of training of existing staff”. “Knowledge and skills acquired at the CMA are directly related to interoperability and compatibility with our partners in NATO, so it is very important to reach as higher level of knowledge and skills”, General Sundov said.
This school year will attend 354 students, 14 of which participants at the “Ban Josip Jelacic” War College, 40 participants at the “Blago Zadro” Command and Staff College, 45 students at the Command and Staff – specialist school, 109 students at the basic officer’s training, 16 students at the High NCO training, 55 trainees at the Advanced NCO training and 75 students at the basic NCO training. Of the total 354 students of all levels of military training at the CMA, this school year will also attend 10 foreign students from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, the Republic of Macedonia and the Republic of Slovenia.
