Chief of GS of Army of Macedonia visits Croatia
The Chief of the General Staff of the Croatian Armed Forces, General Mirko Šundov met with the Chief oif the General Staff of the Army of Macedonia, Lieutenant General Metodija Veličkovski.
The delegation of Army of Macedonia included the Special Operations Regiment Commander Brigadier General Orce Jordev and Commander of the Training and Doctrine Command Colonel Ljubenčo Petrovski, Commander, who held talks with the Chief of the General Staff of the Croatian Armed Forces, General Šundov, the Commander of the Croatian Air Force Brigadier General Mato Mikić, the Commander of the Special Forces Command Brigadier General Perica Turalija, the Head of the Personnel Directorate of the Croatian Armed Forces Brigadier General Ivan Zelić and Deputy Head of the Planning Directorate of the General Staff of the Croatian Armed Forces Colonel Emilio Turina.
The two sides held staff talks and on the expansion of the bilateral co-operation with the emphasis on the co-operation between the special forces, the education at all levels (cadets, NCOs and officers), joint exercises and training events, as well as the possibility of organising joint sports or cultural events.
General Šundov proposed continued education of military personnel in Croatia, the sharing of experiences related to obligations related to NATO membership and of experien ces related to national legislation pertaining to armed forces. Gen. Šundov also underlined the quality of the Croatian defence industry and suggested the Macedonian side to consider equipping the Army with the Croatia-made products.
The Macedonian delegation also met with the State Secretary for Defence Tomislav Ivić and visited the Special Forces Command in Delnice and the Croatian Defence Academy, where they met with the Commander, Major General Mate Pađen.
