Chief of Staff visits 20th HRVCON members deployed in RC North
Chief of General Staff, Lieutenant General Drago Lovrić visited on 16 December 2012 members of the 20th Croatian contingent in ISAF operation which are located at Marmal Camp in northern Afghanistan, near Mazar e Sharif.
During the visit, Lieutenant General Lovrić met the Commander of the Regional Command North, German Major General Erich Pfeffer to discuss the contribution of the Croatian forces in the ISAF operation. General Pfeffer praised Croatia’s infantry company, which is part of the German battalion, and overall contribution of the Republic of Croatia to the support of peace and stability in Afghanistan.
After meeting with German General, Chief of Staff, visited members of the National Support Element, members of the national element for communication and information systems, members who perform their duties within the ISAF Command of the Regional Command North, and members of the 9th infantry company from the composition of the gmtbr and members of the 20th Croatian contingent which are located in Mike Spann Camp in northern Afghanistan, near Mazar e Sharif. At an informal meeting the commanders of the 20th contingent components that are located in Mike Spann Camp met Chief of Staff with their tasks and activities carried out while mentoring Afghan colleagues.
On Monday, December 17, after returning to Kabul, Lieutenant General Drago Lovrić met with the Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces of Afghanistan, General Sher Mohammad Karimi. The discussion on the meeting was on the security situation in Afghanistan and in the wider region, role of the international forces at the end of the transition process after 2014, capability development, development of the Afghan Security Forces and the Croatian contribution to the mentoring of Afghan members of the armed forces and police.
