Chief of the General Staff Visiting Lithuania

Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Croatia, Lt. Gen. Drago Lovrić, and his staff visited the Armed Forces of the Republic of Lithuania from 9-10 April 2013.

The visit included the meeting with the delegation of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Lithuania, headed by the Chief of the General Staff, Lt. Gen.Arvydas Pocius, exchanging the viewpoints on bilateral military co-operation as well as on co-operation within NATO and in international peace-keeping operations. Both sides have expressed interest in co-operating in the domains of education and training, the special operations force training and use, as well as in the Air Force domain.

The official meeting was followed by a visit to the Lithuanian Air Force Command, where the Lithuanian concept of air policing was presented to the Croatian delegation.

The Croatian delegation also visited the Special Force Command, to get familiarised with the structure, the training and the tasks assigned to the Special Force. The Director of the Croatian Defence Academy, Lt. Gen. Barić visited the Lithuanian Military Academy “General Jonas Žemaitis” and meet its Commader, Col. Eugenijus Vosylius. The two generals will analyse the bilateral co-operation of the two military academies so far and discuss the possibilities for future co-operation.
The Croatian delegation also included the Director of the Croatian Defence Academy, Lt. Gen. Slavko Barić, the Head of the Planning Directorate of the General Staff, Captain (N) Marileo Staničić, the adjutant to the Chief of the General Staff, Lt. Col. Emilio Turina and the Croatian Military Attaché to the Republic of Lithuania, Commander (N) Andrija Ljulj.
