Chinese Ambassador visits MOD

During the meeting they discussed previous and possible new areas of future defence cooperation with an emphasis on sharing experiences in the field of peacekeeping operations. Stressing that the international community’s top priority issues was security, they concluded that China and Croatia has been linked by a common interest which was reflected in the attempts and efforts to maintain world peace, control and non-proliferation of nuclear weapons and the prevention of trafficking of weapons, drugs and people. Ambassador Shen said that the Croatian membership in NATO and its accession into the EU was significant for Europe and that by its membership in both organizations, Croatia would gain more on its strategic importance. They also commented the recent meeting between the high Chinese Delegation and representatives of the Ministry of Defence and Croatian Armed Forces saying it was useful for future cooperation and the traditionally friendly relations between the two countries.
