Christmas and New Year wishes from the Defence Minister

This is the moment to extend my appreciation to all of you whose commitment and hard work has strengthened the recognisability of the Ministry of Defence and of the Armed Forces as important factors of peace and stability and reliable partners to our Allies.
The year 2014 has seen the completion of the Long-term Development Plan of the Croatian Armed Forces for the period 2015 – 2024, setting out important guidelines for the future development of the Croatian defence system and proposing a number of demanding tasks for us. Over the past year the many projects and tasks launched by the Ministry have brought us closer to a modernised, solid and efficient defence system guaranteeing security to our citizens and the reputation as a reliable partner, neighbour and member of the international community for our Allies.
I am convinced that in these challenging times too you will fulfill competently all the tasks entrusted to you; hard as it is to carry out demanding reforms, they are, I believe, our opportunity to further improve the defence system, much to the pride of the citizens of the Republic of Croatia.
My special  seasons’s wishes go to the families of the fallen members of the Armed Forces, whose sacrifice won’t fall into oblivion, and to the members of the Armed Forces continue their presence in the peace missions, and particularly to the participants of ISAF, who have contributed to the successful completion of the mission in Afghanistan, where we shall join another Allied mission in the upcoming year!
May the year to come bring joy, serenity and a plenty of success to all of you and your families!

Christmas and New Year wishes from the Chief of the General Staff of the Croatian Armed Forces 

Dear enlisted soldiers, seamen, non-commissioned and commissioned officers, general officers and admirals, members of the Croatian Armed Forces deployed to peace support operations and missions worldwide; dear cadets, civil servants and members of the Ministry of Defence and the Croatian Armed Forces!
Allow me to extend my best wishes for a merry Christmas and a happy New Year 2015!
Awaiting Christmas is the moment to review our achievements and consider the encouragements for future advances.
The Croatian Armed Forces have in the course of the closing carried out a number of plans and tasks; we look with special pride on the support provided to the civilian community, demonstrating best the loyalty to our homeland and its citizens. Furthermore, we also extended our presence in the international peace support operations and misions.
My appreciation goes to all those whose commitment and diligence contributed to the great accomplishments of the Croatian Armed Forces in-country and abroad. I believe in the strength of cohesion and am confident that the spirit will lead us in the future development of the Armed Forces.
At this particular time of the year we are showing special reverence and gratitude for those who built their lives into the freedom and peace in Croatia.
