Coast Guard Authorised Person Course
The 5th Coast Guard Authorised Person Course with 27 attendees commenced in the “Sv. Nikola” Barracks in Split on 11 March 2013 and will be conducted until 22 May 2013.
The course is designed to familiarise the Coast Guard members with the legislation pertinent to their duties of protection of rights and interests of the Republic of Croatia at sea. Upon completion of the Course the attendees qualify themselves as Coast Guard Authorised Persons.
The Commander of the Navy Training Centre, (N) Captain Ivan Vuković welcomed the attendees on behalf of the Navy Commander, followed by the Coast Guard Commander, (N) Captain Marin Stošić and the Head of the N 7, (N) Captain Josip Šantić.
The speakers emphasized that upon the accession of the Republic of Croatia to the European Union, the Croatian Coast Guard and the Maritime Police will assume the key role in maritime safety, and that in order to be able to competently respond to the duties the members have to constantly upgrade and maintain their abilities.
