Coast Guard found two Italian boats in the territorial sea

During the maritime surveillance in the area of ​​the island of Palagruža, ship of the Croatian Coast Guard “Andrija Mohorovičić”, found on Thursday, 19 July in the afternoon, two boats Ciccio Gatto and Adria ship under the flag of the Italian Republic in the Croatian territorial waters.

After the team of the Coast Guard examined the boats’ documents, it was found that they did not done compulsory border control. Since it is a violation of Article 20 of the Law on State Border Protection, which requires skipper or captain of the boat to sail the shortest navigable route to the nearest port for border control, the National Center for data collection in Zadar and Lastovo Police Station were notified.

Boats were ordered to immediately sail from the anchorage of the island of Palagruža and sail to the port Ubli where police officers from the Police station Lastovo issued misdemeanor warrant for avoiding border control, and making the border control at border crossing in Ubli.
