Colonel Kaliszewski awarded with the Order of Croatian Trefoil

State Secretary at the Ministry of Defence Pjer Simunovic, delivered today, 25 August 2011, on behalf of the President Ivo Josipovic, the Order of Croatian Trefoil to ex Polish Military Attaché, Colonel Krzysztof Kaliszewski for outstanding contribution to the development of bilateral relations between Croatian and Polish defence ministries. The award ceremony was also attended by the Polish Ambassador to Croatia Wieslaw Tarka.

MOD State Secretary Simunovic said that the contribution of Brigadier Kaliszewski in successful maintaining and improving of the bilateral military cooperation between the two ministries was very important, especially in the area of ​​defence policy and in cooperation and support of special forces and military police of the two countries. Brigadier Kaliszewski with his selfless and dedicated work deserved to be called a Croatian friend, said State Secretary Simunovic.
Thanking on the decoration, Colonel Kaliszewski stressed the excellent cooperation with officials of the Ministry of Defence and Croatian Armed Forces, and expressed the wish that such cooperation would continue in the future.
Also, during the day, Military Attaché Brigadier Kaliszewski was received by the Chief of General Staff Lieutenant General Drago Lovric, who thanked Colonel for the successful execution of the mandate of the Military Attaché in the Republic of Croatia and expressed his hope for continuation and expansion of bilateral military cooperation between the two countries. General Lovric particularly thanked for assistance to Croatia on its path to Euro-Atlantic integrations. According to him, bilateral military cooperation between the two countries was an example of successful cooperation between the two NATO members. He underlined the excellent relations of the Military Police and Special Operations Battalion with Polish counterparts, and joint participation in peacekeeping operation of the European Union’s EUFOR Tchad, where the Croatian contingent was deployed in the Multinational Battalion North under the command of the Polish Armed Forces.
Brigadier Kaliszewski thanked and expressed his satisfaction that he was able to work to improve bilateral relations with the Croatian Armed Forces and stressed his belief that good cooperation between the two ministries and armed forces would continue in the future.
