Colonel Puhal was awarded the Meritorious Service Medal of the United States of America
It is a medal that was awarded for the contribution in strengthening the defence cooperation between the United States of America and the Republic of Croatia
On 13 February 2024, at the Embassy of the United States of America in Zagreb, Colonel Ivan Puhal was awarded The Meritorious Service Medal of the United States of America for his contribution to strengthening defence cooperation between the United States of America and the Republic of Croatia, while serving as Assistant to Defence Attaché of the Republic of Croatia to the USA.
The medal was presented to Colonel Puhal by the United States Ambassador to the Republic of Croatia, Nathalie Rayes, who emphasized on that occasion that the defence cooperation between the USA and the Republic of Croatia is at the highest level so far and that it will continue to develop.
The Ambassador thanked Colonel Puhal for his contribution to strengthening defence cooperation between the USA and Croatia and for his exemplary service, wishing him all the best in his future work.
Colonel Puhalo expressed his gratitude for the awarded medal and the honour shown, stressing that this medal will be an incentive for his further work and representation of the Republic of Croatia in the international environment.
The award ceremony was attended by the Deputy Chief of the CAF General Staff, LTG Siniša Jurković with representatives of the Ministry of Defence and the Croatian Armed Forces, as well as the US Defence Attaché, Colonel Scott McLearn, with employees of the military office, as well as numerous members of the US Embassy.
