Commemoration for Admiral Vid Stipetic

The commemoration for Admiral Vid Stipetic was held today, 13 June 2011, in ‘Poljud’ Congress

Centre in Split, with presence of the family of the late admiral and numerous senior military dignitaries and guests.

Deputy Chief of General Staff for Operations, also a representative of the Minister of Defence, Admiral Zdenko Simicic in his speech, among other things, pointed out that for Admiral Stipetic all men were equally important, and as he had time for each and everyone, and that for him nobody ever said a rough word. “Dear family, be sure that we are proud of him and everything he has done for the Navy, the Croatian Armed Forces and the Republic of Croatia. Thank you Admiral!”, Rear Admiral Zdenko Simicic said.

Commander of Croatian Navy and the envoy of the President and Commander in Chief of the Croatian Armed Forces, Rear Admiral Ante Urlic, commented on the unique personality of Admiral Stipetic and stressed that the Admiral was a giant of modesty, honesty and humanity, and extraordinary moral pitch for whom only three words were sacred: duty, honour and country.

On behalf of the President and Commander in Chief and employees of Navy, Rear Admiral Urlic expressed his condolences to Stipetic’s wife and son.
