Completion of engineering works in Bogdanovci Municipality
Members of the Engineering Battalion of the Guards Armoured Mechanized Brigade today, 6 December 2011, completed the work on the elimination of war-damaged buildings in Bogdanovci Municipality.
Work began on 30 November 2011 engaging 15 members of the Battalion with the necessary engineering machinery.
The works were done on 8 locations in Petrovci and Svinjarevci. More than 3000 cubic meters of waste construction material have been taken away. Deputy Mayor of Bogdanovci Municipality Jaroslav Medjesi expressed satisfaction with cooperation with the Armed Forces and the great assistance they have provided to municipality because, as he noted, some buildings could collapse and thus were danger for residents. He wished that this cooperation with the armed forces continue in the future.
Works in Bogdanovci Municipality began immediately upon completion of the removal of war-damaged buildings in Vukovar. At various locations in Vukovar 104 buildings have been cleared and more than 25 000 cubic meters of construction waste materials were taken away.
In this way engineering units of the Armed Forces perform regular training and at the same time help local citizens.
