Cooperation between Croatian and Slovenian helicopter squadron
Representatives of the 91st Airbase Multi-role helicopter Squadron, led by Deputy Commander of the Squadron, Major Marijan Skorija participated from 17 to 18 June 2011 in a working visit to the 15th helicopter battalion of the Slovenian Army.
Purpose of the visit was to familiarize with the flight training in the mountainous regions of pilots of the 15th Battalion, considering the Slovenian experience in landing on terrain above 2000 meters altitude. Flying in mountainous areas and landing on the ground that are at altitudes over 2500 meters is one of the most complex forms of flight, due to specific meteorological conditions and the atmosphere, which causes degradation of helicopter’s performance.
Representatives of the two air forces highlight their willingness for further cooperation in the field of training and confirmed the good cooperation, especially in the KFOR mission in Kosovo.
