Croatian AF take part at 12th Rudolf Perešin Memorial
“Wings of Storm” . the aerobatic team, the Mi-171Sh of the Multipurpose Helicopter Squadron of the Croatian Air Force and Air Defence, the paratroopers of the Special Forces Command took part in the flying programme of the 12th Rudolf Perešin Memorial staged in Ivanić Grad on 27 October 2016.
“Wings of Storm“ performed a 6-min flying sequence in the 4-aircraft formation, comprising the Diamond 4, the Diamond 4 loop and Barrel Roll, demonstrating superb aerobatic skills.
Following the jumps by the paratroopers of the Special Forces Command, the Mi-171 Sh helicopter of the 91Air Base landed on the playground and opened its cockpit to the visitors, who also had the opportunity to talk to the pilots.
The promotion stand of the Croatian Armed Forces provided the information on the career in the Armed Forces. A flight simulator was displayed too, with the original seat from the MiG-21 aircraft.
The 12th Rudolf Perešin Memorial took place in remembrance of the 25th anniversary of the historic overflight by Staff Brigadier Rudolf Perešin on the MiG-21 from the JNA to Austria. The 2016 memorial was opened with the exhibition in honour of the pilots of the Croatian Air Force and Air Defence (Rudolf Perešin and Vlado Bezuk), followed by the wreath laying at the memorial bust in the park in Ivanić Grad, named after Rudolf Perešin.
