Croatian Air Force and Air Defence helicopter transports infant in incubator

The Transport Helicopter Squadron of the 93rd Air Force and Air Defence Base transported a two-day old infant (born on Christmas) from the Dubrovnik hospital on 27 December 2013 to the University Hospital Centre in Split.

The crew of the Mi-8MTV, led by the Captain Joško Ivančević, with the co-pilot, 1st Lt. Ivan Omazić and flight technicians SSgt Jakov Matković and SSgt Frane Franić, first landed on the University Hospital Centre’s helidrome to load the incubator for the infant in need, to enable it to be transported from Dubrovnik to Split.

The transportation of the newborns from the south parts of Croatia employing the Croatian Air Force’s Transport Helicopter Squadron of the Divulje Base to ensure timely recovery makes a part of the project „Pull“, initiated by the Split University Hospital Centre to provide emergency medical assistance to infants in urgent cases.
