Croatian and U.S. special forces conduct Joint Combined Exchange Training
The special forces of the Republic of Croatia and of the United States of America conducted a joint Special Operations Forces Joint Combined Exchange Training (JCET)in the Barracks “Josip Jović“ at Udbina and the Training Range “Crvena zemlja“ near Knin from 17-31 July 2018.
The main training authority were the 1st Special Operations Task Group of the Special Operations Forces Command and the 67th Special Operations Squadron of the U.S. Air Force. The Croatian participants were the Military Intelligence Company of the Guards Mechanised Brigade, the Intelligence Division and the Croatian Air Force.
The objective of the training was to develop the capabilities for integration into Special Operations Task Group – Land (SOTG 1), which include deployment to an outpost, self-sustainability, planning, conduct and survey of the full spectrum special operations and the integration of non-organic elements with the supporting capabilities in the operation of the Special Operations Task Group –Land.
The training followed a scenario which featured international forces composed of the traiing participants, were deployed to an outpost, set up a tactical operational centre and planned and conducted counter-terrorist operations using various land and aerial infiltration tactics. They performed military freefall jumps from the U.S. Air Force’s MC-130J aircraft. The Opposing Force were the attendees of the Basic Special Operations Training, who were taking their final training module.
The final training activity consists in the infiltration of special teams by parachutes with full combat equipment, followed by live firing.
