Croatian Defence Academy hosts CEFME
The Croatian Defence Academy “Dr. Franjo Tuđman” (HVU) hosted the conference of the Central European Forum on Military Education (CEFME) from 25 to 27 October 2016, attended by the representatives of military academies of the Czech Republic, BALTDEFCOL, Hungary, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Serbia and a NATO official.
Welcoming the participants at the opening, the Chief of the General Staff of the Croatian Armed Forces, General Mirko Šundov highlighted the importance of investing into the development and education of the human potential.
The host of the Conference, the Commander of the Croatian Defence Academy, Lieutenant General Slavko Barić expressed satisfaction over the first hosting of the CEFME conference, and said that its agenda was relevant for further operability and harmonisation of standards introduced into the military education system, favouring student and teaching staff mobility and standardisation of the syllabi.
The Conference reviewed the past academic year and the progress made since the last Conference held in Hungary. The Croatian Defence Academy staff presented the cadet bulletin – “The Croatian Cadet“, the Combat Diver Course and the concept of the research magazine “Strategos”.
The CEFME is a voluntary association of the military universities in the central European region, founded in 2007, to support the development of education and training military professionals and foster the co-operation of the participating institutions relared to teaching, research, exchange of teachers and students.
