Croatian Military Advisory Team Assists ANA

Early in May 2013 a part of the members of the 2nd Croatian Infantry Military  Advisory Team (INF MAT) consisting of four officers and 2 NCOs visited the Consolidated Fielding Center (CFC), a centre for basic and specialist training of new units of the Afghanistan National Army, situated near Kabul, Afghanistan.

During their stay in Afghanistan the members of the 21st HRVCON were included in evaluation of the 6th Battalion of the 3rd Brigade of the 209th ANA Corps scheduled within the final exercise. Upon successful completion of the training at the Consolidated Fielding Center the 6th Battalion has been deployed to the Shaheen Camp near Mazar-e-Sharif.

The main focus of advising of the 6th Battalion Staff is placed on military decision making, planning and conduct of training, on evaluation and assessment of trainedness of the units and on operations planning and conduct through employing a tactical operations centre and the command post of infantry battalion.

The final objective of the Team is to achieve full operational capability of the Battalion for operations planning and conduct in Afghanistan.

The advisory mission is a continuation of a long-lasting task previously conducted as mentoring and later assumed the dimension of advising at the level of ANA infantry.
