Croatian military helicopters transport cca 500 persons and 100 tons of supplies
The Croatian Air Force and Air Defence has been involved in the flood relief efforts from the early moments of need, on 16 May, first in Bosnia and Herzegovina and later in Croatia too.
One Mi-8MTV of the Transport Helicopter Squadron of the 93rd Air Force and Air Defence Base has been flying the tasks on 23 May 2014, succeeding the crew and the Mi 171 Sh of the Multi-purpose Helicopter Squadron of the 91st Base.
The aerial support to the residents of Slavonia has been provided by the Mi-171Sh helicopter and the crews of the 91st Air Force and Air Defence Base, flying 17 hours and transporting 64 persons, and the crew of the 93rd Base performed 16 flying hours transporting 112 persons aboard their Mi 8 MTV.

On 22 May 2014, flying over the area of Županja and Gunja from the bases in Vinkovci and Županja, the Mi 171 Sh transported 19 members of the Croatian Armed Forces assigned with recce, protection and rehabilitation of flooded areas.
Two Mi-8 MTV of the Transport Helicopter Squadron of the 93rd Air Force and Air Defence Base were dispatched to assist the population in Bosnia and Herzegovina; on 22 May they were conducting recce mission in the Orašje area and transporting from Ljubuški (Herzegovina), performing a total of 7.5 flying hours and transporting 24 persons and 4 tons of supplies.
Providing the assistance to Bosnia and Herzegovina, and based at the Rajlovac airport, the Croatian Air Force crews have over the past eight days performed 180 flights, transporting 285 persons and 94 tons of various supplies (food, drinking water, medicines, sandbags, boats).
The Croatian aerial assistance to Bosnia and Herzegovina has been provided in compliance with the Decision by the Government of the Republic of Croatia, and is concluding on Friday 23 May 2014 at 7.pm
