Croatian military team again won the “CISM FIFA FUTSAL CUP”
A regional international military competition “2010 FUTSAL CISM-FIFA CUP” completed in “A.G. Matos” Primary School Sports Hall in Vinkovci on Sunday, November 28.
During the closing ceremony, the audience was addressed by President of the Organising Committee, Commander of the Guards Armoured-Mechanized Brigade, Brigadier General Mladen Mikolcevic, and the competition was closed by the Secretary General of CISM, Colonel Alexandre Morisod.
During four days of competition, teams from Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Macedonia, Montenegro, Serbia and Slovenia have played 11 games with each other. In the final game were futsal teams of Croatia and Serbia, and Croatia won 6:1. This was a second Cup in a row for futsal military Croatian team since Croatia had won last year when the competition was held in Belgrade in Serbia. Third place was won by the Montenegro in a match with Slovenia. The best player of the tournament was Alen Besic (Croatia), top scorer Zdravko Djokovic (Montenegro), and the best goalkeeper Davorin Mikluc (Serbia). Fair Play Trophy was won by the Croatian team.
During their stay in Vinkovci, futsal teams also laid wreaths in front of the monument on Memorial Cemetery of War Victims in Vukovar, on Saturday, November 27.
