Croatian Navy officers serve in “ATALANTA”

The Croatian Navy officers continue participating in the EU NAVFOR “ATALANTA” Operation – following the regular rotation in January 2015. Lieutenant Commander Zoran Dražić and Navy Lieutenant Marinko Majić were bound for the operation area in January 2015.

Lt. Comm. Zoran Dražić has been assigned to the post of operations officer in the Operation Headquarters in Northwood, UK, and will take over the duty from Lt. Comm. Drago Šimić, while Navy Lt. Marinko Majić is taking the duty of the operations officer in th Force Headquarters aboard the Royal Netherlands Navy’s vessel  “Johan de Witt“.
Lt. Comm.  Zoran Dražić, Maritime Transport Engineer, joined the Croatian Army in 1991. An officer in the Training and Doctrine Dept. Of the Navy Command,  he servied in ATALANTA previously, as operations officer aboard the ITS San Giusto, and participated in the UNFICYP in 2009.
Navy Lt. Majić, Maritime Transport Engineer, has been a member of the Croatian Armed Forces since 2005, and commander of the missile gunboat RTOP 42 since 2014.
The rotation in the Operational Headquarters of the EU NAFOR Somalia „ATALANTA” takes place semi-annually, while the duties aboard the vessels are agreed bilaterally.
