Croatian soldiers in UNIFIL take part in SHAMA Challenge
The members of the 2nd HRVCON to UNIFIL in Lebanon took part in the “Shama Challenge 2019” competition, conducted in the “Shama” Camp and organised by the members of the Slovene Contingent.
Other participants included the members of the armed forces of Ireland, Malaysia and China.
The competition comprised a series of tasks to perform at the team level, requiring solid physical fitness and e survivability in in new situations (orienteering, overturning lorry tyres, carrying the boxes with ammunition, the transport of the wounded across the obstacles in full gear and climbing the artificial rock.
The five-member Croatian team mastered all tasks and ranked 6th of 11 teams.
The competition was closed with a ceremony, with the Commander of the Sector West, Brigadier General Diodato
Abagnara presenting the participants with the certificates and congratulating the winner teams.
