Defence industry exhibition in Split announced

Defence Minister Davor Bozinovic at the press conference held on Monday, February 28, in the ‘Poljud’ Congress Centre in Split, has officially announced an international exhibition of armaments and military equipment “Adriatic sea defence and aerospace exhibition and conference-ASDA,” which would be held from 29 to 31 March 2011 in the Spaladium arena in Split.

The press conference was attended by the MOD State Secretary Mate Raboteg and Deputy Chief of General Staff for Plans and Resources, Lieutenant General Slavko Baric.
The exhibition will be held under the auspices of the Government of the Republic of Croatia, and organized by the TNT Production Inc. company from the United States, which has been specialized in organizing of fairs of such type.
Minister Bozinovic stressed that this exhibition would be the excellent business opportunity for the Republic of Croatia and manufacturers of military equipment. The aim was, for the exhibition to traditionally be held in Split. “Our goal is to permanently put Split on the map of the world’s largest organizers of exhibitions of this kind. Split joins the company of Paris, Moscow and Abu Dhabi. We are pleased with the fact that our American partners have chosen Split as potentially the best location in this part of Europe for organizing such exhibitions”, Minister Bozinovic said. The importance of this international exhibition is manifold. This is primarily because of the economic importance since, as it is known, this type of industry has been in a large increase. Preparations for the exhibition are going well, and the turnout was remarkable. So far, 107 companies had registered, of which 39 Croatian and 68 companies from abroad, among which are those known for the production of military equipment and weapons from the world’s top.
According to MOD State Secretary Mate Raboteg the exhibition will present the companies with specific products or the latest simulators from all areas of defence and security. The entire exhibition area has been already sold out. Minister Bozinovic noted that the exhibition would be a good opportunity for bilateral meetings, but the most important for establishing business contacts.
