Defence Minister holds bilateral meeting in Australia
Within the official visit to Australia, the Croatian Defence Minister Ante Kotromanović held a bilateral meeting with the Australian Assistant Minister for Defence, the Hon. Stuart Robert
The two ministers discussed the current global security situation, the co-operation in the ISAF and ATALANTA operations, counter-piracy operations and also outlined the possibilities of military co-operation between the two countries.
“We discussed the possibilities of officer exchange in the domain of education and training; both sides expressed satisfaction for having had an opportunity to discuss security issues and exchange views, particularly on ISAF“, said Minister Kotromanović.
The Australian Assistant Minister for Defence, Stuart Robert, stated he was very glad to be able to discuss the relations between Croatia and Australia.
“I have heard of the achievements of the Croatian Armed Forces, the professionalism of their members and their development and it is my view that our respective militaries are comparable in terms of the size and professionalism”, emphasised Robert.
On Friday 14 March Minister Kotromanović is to meet the Defence Minister of New Zealand, Hon Dr. Jonathan Coleman, and to visit the Devonport Naval Base.
