Defence Minister on an official visit to Morocco
Defence Minister Ante Kotromanović is heading a delegation on an official visit to Kingdom of Morocco from 8 to 11 April 2014, during which he met with the Defence Minister of Morocco, Abdellatif Loudly and the Inspector General of the Royal Armed Forces and the Commander of the Operations Zone South, General Abdelaziz Bennani to discuss defence and military technical co-operation.
Both sides expressed the interest in establishing bilateral defence co-operation, beneficial also for future development of the overall relations. In that regard they envisaged preparing a memorandum on defence co-operation between Croatia and Morocco.
Further topics included Morocco’s co-operation with the European Union and NATO; the Moroccan official congratulated Croatian minister on the reforms completed which facilitated the entry to NATO and the EU within a short time period.
Minister Kotromanović stated that Croatia recognised the role Morocco in Africa and in the Mediterranean, as well as its contribution to the regional and global stability and security.
On 10 April 2014 Minister met with the Hed of the Directorate of Reception and Transition of the Administration of National Defence, Brig. Gen. Mohamed Laamiri and the Governor of Casablanca, Brig. Gen. Mohamed Falsy, and is visiting the Royal Navy School, the Material Support Service and the Royal Navy Nautical Club..
The Minister is accompanied by representatives of the Ministry of Defence and a delegation of Croatian businessmen, who presented their products and services, generating substantial interest by the Moroccan hosts.
