Deputy DM attends CEDC Defence Ministers meeting
Deputy Defence Minister Višnja Tafra is attending the defence ministers meeting of the Central European Defence Co-operation in Visegrád, Hungary on Friday 14 March 2014
The meeting itself will be preceded by the meeting of the Visegrád Group, enabling the discussion on defence topics on a wider scale.
The ministers will also discuss the security situation in the South-East Europe and in Ukraine, the conclusions of the European Council on defence of 19 and 20 December 2013; the possibilities of co-operation with respect to pooling and sharing of capabilities and resources and maximising of the existing capacities. The meeting is important contribution to strengthening of relations and exploring the modalities of co-operation of benefit to all member countries.
The background idea of the Central European Defence Co-operation is to explore the possibilities for pooling and sharing of capabilities in the current restricted budget situation, in order to help maintain, enhance and further specialise the defence capabilities through defence co-operation.
The present is the third meeting of the Central European Defence Co-operation, following the first one held in Frauenkirchen, Austria in June 2012 and the second in Mali Lošinj, Croatia in mid-2013.
