Divers of Croatian and German Navy in eco-action
In the frame of the bilateral military cooperation, German divers visited the Croatian Navy from 12 to 22 August 2012.
During their visit, they exchanged experiences on the scuba diving, and conducted a number of joint activities, inter alia, introducing the characteristics of countermine Divex diving equipment, scuba diving with closed circuit breathing mixture, deep sea diving with metal detector search, training and operations of countermine divers in NATO and UN IMO, navigation tubing in day and night conditions, the exercise of search and marking of sunken objects, etc.
Divers of the Centre for Navy Training and countermine divers of the German Navy participated in the environmental action to clean up the seabed in Veli Drvenik, upon the invitation of the organizers – the Association for Development and Mutual help – St. Juraj from Veli Drvenik and “Mornar” Underwater Research Team from Split. Five tons of various waste was removed from the sea in this eco-action.
