ECO action of Navy scuba divers on the island of Solta

Members of the Training Centre of the Croatian Navy conducted this year the first of four planned, environmental actions on the island of Solta, where they were cleaning the Necujam Bay.

The action will continue in June in the Maslinica Bay, and at the end of tourist season in September, when the cleaning of the Sesula Bay was scheduled and area from Sumpetar to Piskera Bay.
Environmental cleanup of seabed is a continuation of the successful two-year cooperation of the Croatian Navy and the Municipality of Solta during which Navy cleaned a large part of the island.
The Croatian Navy divers in the numerous military – civil actions traditionally participate in the underwater cleaning and in protection of plant and animal species of the Adriatic Sea. One of the following possible actions of scuba divers is cleaning the lake in Mljet National Park from the waste floated from Albania during last year’s environmental disaster.
