Families of the kidnapped Israeli civilians with Minister Anušić
Israeli families are still looking for their family members, Minister Anušić sent a message of support
On Tuesday, 16 January 2024, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence Ivan Anušić received families of the kidnapped Israeli civilians, including women and children, held hostage by Hamas.
At the meeting with the Minister of Defence, Israeli Ambassador Gary Koren was accompanied by six family members of the kidnapped civilians. Part of the family does not have any information about their missing members, and they showed to Minister Anušić a video of their loved ones that members of Hamas recorded after they were kidnapped either from their kibbutz or from the Nova music festival.
“I sympathize with Israeli families and the kidnapped civilians; I am especially saddened that there are children and women among them. Many Croatian families also experienced such or similar fates in the Homeland War, and we know very well what that feeling is like. Along with my sympathy, I also send a message that war suffering has to stop“, Minister Anušić said.
Particularly impressive was the story of a family member of the kidnapped Noa Argamani, whose mother is seriously ill and her only wish is to see her daughter for the last time. Noa Argamani was kidnapped from the Nova music festival together with her boyfriend Avinatan Ora.
She is only 26 years old and the only child of her parents.
