Farewell visit of French military attaché
MOD State Secretary Pjer Simunovic received on Wednesday, July 21, in a farewell visit, the military attaché of the French Republic Colonel Olivier Rouanet and in the inaugural visit the new French military attaché to Croatia Colonel Eric Prigent.
During the visit, MOD State Secretary Simunovic thanked Colonel Rouanet for the good cooperation during his three-year term and on his personal involvement and efforts to strengthen the traditionally good defence cooperation between France and Croatia, in particular reinforced by Croatia’s NATO accession, and future Croatian EU accession. Colonel Rouanet said that there was very good bilateral cooperation and the frank and friendly attitude while emphasizing the five most important areas of bilateral cooperation. After a brief introduction, the new military attaché of the French Republic to Croatia Colonel Eric Prigent said that he will do everything to continue, and deepen, the existing bilateral cooperation focused on five main areas: political and defence dialogue, training of Croatian officers in the French military schools, learning French and cooperation in navy area and logistics. Discussion was also on possibilities for expanding cooperation and on openness on both sides with regard to new initiatives.
