Film of the Army in the top three at the International Military Documentary Festival

The film “Croatian Army” at this year’s 22nd International Festival of Documentary Military Films “Esercito e Popoli”, held from 7 to 13 September in the Italian town Bracciano was selected among the top three film of the festival and won Special Jury Award – Plaque of the Speaker of the Italian Parliament.

In the view of the jury, the film of the Croatian Ministry of Defence was recognized in particular due to the use of improved video techniques and excellent directing in a unique way demonstrated a range of modern military capabilities. This is the third consecutive year that the Croatian military film won an award on this Festival, and this year it was the biggest success so far.
The award was received on behalf of the Croatian Embassy to the Italian Republic by Mirjana Matanic, first secretary of the Embassy. The festival was attended by 17 countries from around the world, and in competition were 50 films of military thematic nominated in eleven categories.
Nominated fifteen-minute film on the Croatian Army, which was made in the Croatian Military Media Division of the Public Relations and Information Department of the Ministry of Defence, was made on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the Croatian Armed Forces and presents all of specialties and capabilities of its largest service – the Army.
So far, the Ministry of Defence to the aforementioned Festival won a special award in history category with “Military-police Storm Operation” in 2009, and a year before won the first prize in the category of propaganda with the film “The Croatian Armed Forces”.
