Finnish Minelayer “Pohjanmaa” visits Croatian Navy and Split

The Finnish Navy minelayer and training vessel “Pohjanmaa” is visiting Croatian Navy and the town of Split for the first time, from 21 to 24 May 2013. The visit is an activity within the bilateral cooperation programme.

The Pohjanmaa is 78.5 m long and 11.07 m wide,with 3.5 m draught. Lt. Commander Mika Raunu commands a crew of 30 officers and 100 seamen.

At the occasion of the visit of «Pohjanmaa» to Split, there will be a reception organised by the Navy Flotilla Commander for the Finland’s Ambassador and the Vessel Commander, who will also pay the formal visits to the town of Split and the Split County. The Finnish crew will also have the opportunity to visit the Croatian Navy vessels.

The “Pohjanmaa” will welcome visits by the public on Thursday 23 May 2013, at a dock in the Lora Naval Port from 13-17 (entry near the roundabout).
