First “101.8 ft”Radio Show from „Zemunik”
The broadcasting of the “101,8 FT” (101,8 FITA) Radio Show commenced at the 93rd Croatian Air Force and Air Defence Base at the “Zemunik” Barracks on 19 March 2014
The title of the Show refers to the radio frequency and the altitude indication used in flying. The Show was produced by the Zadar Radio Station and is to be broadcast monthly from the Zemunik apron.
The purpose of the show is to present the operation and the activity of the Base and the various occupations and assignments carried out at the Base through the individual portraits of the flight and other personnel.
The first show, anchored by Ana Marušić, featured the training of the pilots of the Royal Air Force of the Sultanate of Oman, whose flight instructors took their first flight on the PC-9M Pilatus alongside the Croatian pilots. The training programme for Omani pilots was presented by the Plane Squadron Commander, Maj. Željko Harapin, and Maj. Krešimir Ražov gave an account of his NVG flying experiences.
Among the presented pilots were Captain Edvarda Krišto of the “Krila Oluje” Aerobatic Group of the Croatian Air Force and Air Defence and 1st. Lieutenant Juraj Kovačević, an illustrator of the pilots’ helmets.
Captain Stjepan Jović of the 14 HRVCON KFOR, awaiting the return to Croatia following the rotation with the succeeding Contingent, joined the show directly via link from the KFOR theatre of mission.
A pilot and the youngest flight instructor, 1st. Lieutenant Antonija Mutabdžija, participating as co-anchorwoman of the Show, announced the Open Day to be organised on the occasion of the 93rd Croatian Air Force and Air Defence Base Day at the “Zemunik” Barracks on Saturday 22 March 2014.
