First independent flights of cadets on Zlin 242 L

Students who are studying for the military pilots have performed the first independent flight on a plane Zlin 242 L today, April 5, in 93rd Aircraft Squadron of the Croatian Air Force and Air Defence in Zemunik Barracks.

Under the expert guidance of flight teacher, cadets after completing the flying selection started with the basic flight training on Zlin 242 L aircraft, which include the basic elements in the air and monitoring other air traffic, and training of all regular and emergency procedures to the level of full independence.

Successfully implemented independent flights are the indicator of the cadets readiness to continue with the complex phase flight training involving acrobatic, navigation and group flying, and eventually to move on to the selected type of aircraft.

Trainers were flight instructors. Captain Natko Kulić and Edward Krišto, and cadets were congratulated by the Commander of the Pilot School Colonel Željko Jurkovic and Colonel Ivica Mandušić on behalf of the 93rd Air Force Base.
