First Special Aviation Operations Planning Course at Zemunik
First Special Aviation Operations Planning Course kicks off in the Multinational Special Aviations Training Centre (MSAP TC) at Zemunik
The first Special Aviation Operations Planning Course commenced on Thursday, February 20, 2020 at the Multinational Special Aviation Program Training Center – MSAP TC in the Barracks “Pukovnik Mirko Vukušić“ at Zemunik.
The First Special Aviation Operations Planning Course kicked off in the Multinational Special Aviation Programme Training Centre (MSAP TC) in the Barracks “Pukovnik Mirko Vukušić“ at Zemunik on 20 February 2020.
The Course is attended by helicopter crews and teams from the MSAP member nations (Croatia, Bulgaria, Hungary and Slovenia) and the lectures are delivered by licenced MSAP-TC instructors.
The Course is administered as in-class training event, to be followed by another one in the course of 2020 and by flight training respectively.
The Course participants were welcomed by the Commander of the Croatian Air Force Training Centre “Rudolf Perešin” Colonel Goran Huljev, while the Director of MSAP TC Lieutenant Colonel Tomislav Pušnik presented the Course elements.
“As of today, the beginning of the first Course, the MSAP TC is focussed on training processes. In the current year the Centre will administer in-class preparations and the training will feature planning of special air operations, jointly with the air component of special forces. The Centre boasts top instructors, standardised training and all conditions necessary for the training of the elite personnel for special air operations”, said Lt.Col. Pušni

The Course is administered under the mentorship of the staff of NATO Special Operations Headquarters (NSHQ) and the US Special Operations Command Europe (U.S. SOCEUR).
The MSAP TC was initiated in 2015, when the Republic of Croatia assumed on two Capability Targets committing to establish special air operations unit. Bulgaria, Hungary and Slovenia took he same capability targets, and the defence ministers in 2019 signed the Memorandum of Understanding on the establishment of MSAP and the MSAP TC, which was officially opened at Zemunik in December 2019.
The objective of MSAP is to train multi-purpose helicopter crews and teams designated for special aviation operations through in-class and flight training to perform unconventional special air forces tasks in accordance with capability targets of each MSAP member nation.
