Flag lowering ceremony in the “Mike Spann” Camp

The Croatian Camp within the Mike Spann Camp in Afghanistan, on 8 January 2014 saw the flag lowering ceremony symbolically marking the withdrawal of the Croatian troops from Afghanistan along with the ISAF Coalition Forces.

The Croatian Camp was built in 2010, and the respective assets will be donated to the Afghanistan National Army (ANA), pursuant to the decision of the Government of the Republic of Croatia.

The ceremony was attended by the members of the 22nd Croatian Contingent and the members of the Coalition partners, and featured SFC Mario Sabo and SFC Tomislav Gorec lowering the flag to the Croatian national anthem and 1st Sergeant Ivan Plavšić presenting it to the 22nd Contingent Commander, Col. Jozo Matković for permanent retention.
